The Research Of Relationship Between Bejing-Tianjin-Hebei’s Central Cities’ Industrial Agglomeration And Economic Growth

Since the Industrial Revolution, the most notable feature of world economic activities isthe economic agglomeration which can be demonstrated by industrial aggloeration, so therelationship between industrial agglomeration and economic growth has been highly focused.Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei as the most developed economic zone in the north of China and thelargest industrial base, how to develop its Industry Agglomeration advantages to promote thecoordinated development ofregional economic problems becomes very important. This paperdemonstrates the present situation of industrial agglomeration and economic growth ofBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei’s central cities and the relationship between the two which wasdeveloped on the basis of combed the predecessors’ research results.About the current situation part, first, using the Concentration Ratio (CR), Herfindahlindex (H index), N index, Regional Gini coefficient and Clustering coefficient to measure theindustrial agglomeration level of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei’s central cities, and carries out acomparative analysis on the measuring results of various index, demonstrate the currentsituation of central cities in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei’s industrial aggoleration; Second, from thescale (stock) and speed (incremental) two ways to measure the level of economicdevelopment of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei’s central cities, by introducing William coefficientwhich was also called the weighted coefficient of variation to analyze the economica gapbetween central cities to demonstrate the current situation of central cities inBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei.In the empirical part,first, according to the data of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei’s central citiesin past ten years this paper construct the industrial agglomeration and the linear model ofeconomic growth, estimates of the cluster and correlation between economic growth rate ofthe first, the two or three industry, the result indicates positive correlation between the threeindustry and economic growth which promote economic growth to some extent,especially thesecond industry followed by tertiary industry. second, by joining the industrial agglomerationfactors to the effective labor model, the result is shoed through the change of output elasticity of factors, the industrial agglomeration can improve the output of elasticity of human capitalon the effective labor model, to promote human capital in economic growth in the role intofull play, and promote economic growth.Finally, the achievements in the research of the paper are summarized, aiming at theBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei’s central cities’ agglomeration process problems and puts forward somesuggestions.
