Study On Competitiveness Appraisal Of Agricultural Leading Enterprises In Sichuan

As the main organization carrier of agricultural industrialization, agricultural leading enterprises have important responsibilities for expanding the market, technology innovation, guiding production, building production base and leading farmers’business activities. They play an important role in promoting agricultural industrialization process, adjusting and optimizing the structure of agriculture and the rural economy, promoting the sustainable development of rural economy and increasing farmers’incomes. Compared with the developed countries, the overall competitiveness of the agricultural leading enterprises in China is weak. They can’t play leading role as "leading" fully, thus affecting the development of agricultural industrialization process. Therefore it has a very important theoretical and practical significance in the study on the competitiveness appraisal of agricultural leading enterprises in Sichuan, building competitiveness evaluation index system to making scientific and objective evaluation to their competitive level, then finding out the important factors that affect their competitiveness, and taking appropriate measures to further enhance the overall competitiveness of agricultural leading enterprises.Based on the review of the relevant literature, according to the basic theory of leading enterprises and competitiveness theory and fully consider the characteristics of agricultural leading enterprises, this article built the competitiveness evaluation index system. Then it made description of the statistical analysis about the development status of63agricultural leading enterprises, and then it used the principal component analysis and comparative analysis to carry on the empirical analysis of63agricultural leading enterprises’ competitiveness in Sichuan and sorting according the competitiveness scores. Further it investigated their competitiveness according to the different classification standards. Finally it evaluated their competitiveness from three aspects of survival ability, development ability and potential ability.Based on all the above competitiveness evaluation we can get the main conclusions of this article:the enterprise scale is the most important factor affects the competitiveness of leading enterprises; the management level of agricultural leading enterprises is low; science and technology innovation investment is little, the content of science and technology in agricultural product is low; the coupling mechanism with famers is unstable; the support of government and financial institutions for agricultural leading enterprises is not enough. Aiming at the problems of agricultural leading enterprises in Sichuan, this article make some suggestions on how to improve the competitiveness of agricultural leading enterprises in Sichuan in the future:implement the moderate scale management strategy; strengthen the enterprises internal management and improve the management level; improve the ability of technological innovation, increase the competitiveness of agricultural products and establish a brand image; consolidate and improve the coupling mechanism with farmers; increase government’s support for agricultural leading enterprises; guide financial institutions to take more credit support and financing services for agricultural leading enterprises.
