Express Business Aviation Logistics Network Hub Node Selection

As the popularity of modern science such as network technology, information andcommunication technology, the mode of production and lifestyle had changed rapidly aswell. Owing to the acceleration of life pace, the demand for timeliness of logisticsservices had increased greatly. Therefore, express delivery services, a kind of logisticsservices that emphasized the timeliness, have developed rapidly in the past few years.With the scale of air cargo growing while the price dropping, air transport seems to be arelatively reasonable and economic choice for most express delivery companies.However, due to the late start of China’s express delivery industry and a serial oflimitations, Chinese express delivery companies, especially the private ones, has fewcontrol ability over the transport network, for their transport capacity were rented fromother airlines. But gradually, the private express delivery companies in this way werehard to satisfy the growing market demand, therefore, in order to meet the marketdemand, more and more private express delivery companies have began to lease or buyall cargo to ensure enough transport capacity. But ultimately, these things are notenough, we need to build a high efficient, low cost, reasonable and reliable aviationlogistics network and arrange the transport capacity legitimately to realize hightimeliness of transportation in real sense.Aviation logistics network construction of private express delivery companies inChina are still at exploration stage for lacking of experience. This paper, under such abackground, firstly analyzed the developing history of express service, drivers andtrends and generalized the development and formation process of the market as well asthe market competition and participating subjects both at home and abroad, thenselected some representative enterprises and introduced their products, applications ofinformation technology, especially their service network coverage, modes of transportand means of transport.Secondly, this paper has researched express logistics network system fromelements, structures and functions, and compared different network patterns in topology,operating procedures and service efficiency, then analyzed the cost and time in variousprocesses qualitatively, finally realized the building of the express logistics networksystem with combing the application of all kinds of network structure in practice.Finally, we build an express enterprise aviation logistics network location model based on "sub-hub" type network, and solved it with tabu search algorithm. At the sametime, we selected SF corporation as an example and optimized its aviation logisticsnetwork according to its actual operating data. The conclusions not only can providetheoretical support and guidance for enterprise, but also proved the feasibility of themodel.
