Research On Etween Sichuan Industrial Structure Changes And Economic Growth

Economic growth has always been the focus of scholars at home and abroad. The traditional economic growth theory is that in the long run, economic growth is the accumulation of capital, increased labor and technological progress, transfer of elements between departments is unnecessary. This view has lasted for a long time, until the emergence of the structuralists smashed the conclusion. Structuralism scholars brought structure and structural changes in the study on economic growth. Through empirical analysis, they conclude that elements of the flow will cause tradeoffs between different industry sectors and this will result in change of industrial structure. Since then, more and more scholars begin to pay close attention to the relationship between the change of industrial structure and economic growth. Today, the research is still very common. At present, the economists have reached a consensus that there is a link between industrial structure and economic growth. They argue that on the one hand, the change of industrial structure will cause the industrial productivity differences between departments, which makes the resources flowing from low benefit industry to high benefit industry, so as to improve the efficiency of total output and promote economic growth, on the other hand, the growth of economics will make the national per capita income increase, which can lead to changes in demand structure and finally causes changes in industrial structure.Our country is a developing country, which has serious imbalance of regional development in economic development. At the same time, here is no conclusion on the causal relationship between the change of industrial structure and economic growth, so there is necessary to analysis the actual situation for different regions. As a traditional western province, Sichuan has suffered devastating earthquake in2008, the province has a total of39regions were affected and the economy has been hit hard. Moreover, the international financial crisis was broke out at the same year that leaded the Sichuan economic development in the context of the economic crisis become the focus of national attention. Currently, China’s economy is going through an important period to speed up the adjustment of industrial structure and promote economic restructuring and upgrading, it provides a favorable external environment and opportunities for the rapid economic development in Sichuan. Therefore, the choice of Sichuan province as the research object is certainly representative.This paper consists of five parts.In the first part I discussed the background and meaning of this paper and mentioned the research method I would use. In the second part, I reviewed the research status at home and abroad. In the third part I expounded the present situation of the three industrial structures and its evolution process from a quantitative point of view. In the fourth part I built the VAR model and used impulse response function for studying the dynamic for a long time.In the last part I summarized the above research.
