Evaluation Of Land Intensive Use In Xian’an Economic Development Zone Based On GIS

At present, China is in its key period of building up conservation-conscious and environment-friendly society, with growing pressure of recourses and environment and the prominent contradiction between supply and demand of the land. The development zones have a crucial effect in the promotion of local economic development. They are widely used to adjust and upgrade the structure of industry, develop regional economies and promote science and technology innovations. However, on the other hand, in the process of exploring the land in the development zones, many problems such as emphasizing on the amount of expansion but ignoring the quality, emphasizing on the scale but ignoring the efficiency, emphasizing on investment invitation but ignoring arrangement, have not been solved effectively. In order to ensure the scientific development, enhance the efficiency of resource-consuming and relieve the contradiction of demand and supply for land use, the intensive and efficient mode of land use needs to be established. The appraisal of land intensive use in development zones is directive and with reference value to elevate management level, establish the performance examination system, improve efficient mechanism of land use, and strengthen the role of land in macroeconomic regulation and control.This research aims to analyze the current situations of land use in Xian’an Economic Development Zone so as to accelerate the intensive use of land. The study combines the investigation of present land use in Xian’an Economic Development Zone, the assessment of land intension use, calculations of land use intensification potential, the analysis of land expansion, and countermeasures of land intensive exploitation. With the help of the relevant departments in Xian’an Economic Development Zone and many experts, the study of evaluation of land intensive use in Xian’an Economic Development Zone was completed within three months.
