Evaluation Studies Of Third Party Logistics Providers Based On Reverse Logistics

Nowadays, the government and other relevant departments pay more attention to environmental protection and resource conservation. Enterprises pursue to improve their core competitiveness and customer satisfaction. They also pursue to reduce operating costs. Therefore reverse logistics gets more and more concern. There are more and more companies realize the value of reverse logistics and come into the industry. Whether the companies need to carry out reverse logistics, it is a comprehensive evaluation process. On the reverse logistics strategy mode, companies should be clear how to choose own operations, joint operations or outsource the reverse logistics business to a professional third logistics company. On selecting reverse logistics provider, the companies should know how to choose an appropriate third-party reverse logistics provider in mixed vendor market. The above two questions are crucial in the future.In order to solve the problems, based on a number of domestic and foreign theories, this paper introduces the concept, characteristics and theoretical basis of reverse logistics. It also introduces the concept of third-party reverse logistics and the advantages which third-party reverse logistics can bring to companies. From the introduction, companies can understand reverse logistics and third-party reverse logistics well. Then the paper describes the selection principles of indicator system which will help to evaluate the third-party reverse logistics provider. Based on previous experience, the paper constructs the evaluation index system of third-party reverse logistics supplier. It is in line with requirements of large manufacturing enterprises. After that, the paper uses attribute reduction software named ROSETTA to reduce the indicator system. So the final standard system is simple and scientific.After a brief description of evaluation method of supplier, this paper chooses an evaluation method named AHP-improved cloud center of gravity to evaluate third-party reverse logistics provider. This method well solves the qualitative and quantitative problems in evaluation index system. It also solves the fuzzy and random problems. Finally, by evaluating a third-party reverse logistics supplier of a manufacturing enterprise, the paper helps to analyze the problems existing in third-party reverse logistics provider. So the provider can strengthen its management. Overall, this study has certain reference value and practical significance in the evaluation and selection of reverse logistics providers of enterprises.
