New product development as the lifeblood of enterprises, it’s very important for enterprises to obtain market position and maintain competitive advantage. Lots of enterprises choice to formation of new product alliances to accelerate new product development speed and improve new product development performance. However, most enterprises especially small and medium enterprises still have poor abilities of new product development in China.Therefore, how to develop and manage new product alliances to improve new product development performance is becoming the attention focus for the scholars.Based on a large number of theoretical literature,our paper from the analysis perspective of nested structure which new product development alliances has, choosing new product alliances of SME in Zhejiang province, and from the two angle of organization and individual to research the influence of network organization characteristics(network structure,network relationships) and personal characteristics (human capital) on the performance of new products.The empirical research shows that:(1)Network scale and network heterogeneity both have significant positive effect on new product development performance;(2)Network connection strength plays an important regulatory role among network scale、network heterogeneity and new product development performance;(3)Network relationship quality plays an important regulatory role between network scale and new product development performance;(4)Human capital plays an important positive regulatory role between network scale、heterogeneity and new product development performance;(5)Heterogeneity of human capital has a significant negative impact on network connection strength and network relationship quality. In the end, implications for new product development alliances are discussed based on the findings of empirical research.
