Research On The Strategy For Dalian Smarter Tourism Development

When tourism becomes part of our lives, people start focusing on its quality&connotation, from traditional exhausting way of galloping through all sorts of attractions in a short time, to relishing the process itself. Tourists begin to bring in modern scientific technology to it and enjoy the pleasure that the combination of information technology and modern tourism bring to them. Smarter Tourism is the new method adapted to this. It is also the melange combination of information technology&tourism in the ongoing trend. As China’s best tourism city, Dalian is currently working on building up a Smarter Tourism city, promoting melange of tourism industry&informatization, strengthening intelligentization of tourism market, management regulation and enhancing value of Dalian as a famous tourism brand. With the intensive competition among cities, adjustment of tourism structure and improvement of tourism management level and quality of service, the fact that how to market cities via information technology, to improve tourism service through modern scientific technology, to combine Smarter Tourism with economic development, has become an issue that lies ahead.The author has collected basic materials&sorted these out for this assignment through internal interview&internal/external files and data collection. On top of this, she analyses briefly upon domestic/international development&its future of Smarter Tourism first and further more, she gives overall introduction on current ongoing Smarter Tourism in Dalian. In order to demonstrate this issue entirely, she gives analysis on its internal and external environment, basic resources, and ability of developing by using strategic methods, such as PEST&SWOT,etc. And she carries out deep research upon its advantages,disadvantages.threats and opportunities during the process of its development. Finally, with the support of basic theory and case studies, she elaborates on developing strategy of Dalian Smarter Tourism, and she also provides proposal&suggestion upon mindset of strategic development, settings&supports of strategy implements of Dalian Smarter Tourism. Hopefully this will help with further development of Dalian Smarter Tourism at some level.
