Research On Decision-making Functions Outside The US Think Tank

As unofficial and non-profit policy research institutions, think tanks carry out their researches in every aspect. Think tanks have been playing an important role on policy-making of the United States, as well as being an integral part of it. After President Obama took office, Sino-American economics and trade relations have entered a new stage, with lots of disputes and frictions. Think tanks have conducted a series of detailed and objective researches around the topic of Sino-American economics and trade relations, giving all kinds of policy advices to Obama Administration, and bringing forward adjustments for the existing policies, thus becoming a irreplaceable role in the whole procedure of the economics and trade policy-making towards China of the United States. Using sample analysis, this thesis picks five of the American think tanks excellent in comprehensive research and international economic research, listing their different opinions on hot issues in the field of Sino-American economics and trade, and reflecting the think tank scholars’ influence in shaping American economics and trade policy toward China from the policy practices of the Obama administration. Finally, the thesis tries to give advice upon Sino-American think tank communications.
