With the development of globalization, more and more enterprises start to realize the importance of supply chain management. Supply chain management, as an integrated management theory and method, it links upstream firms and downstream firms together and consolidate resources to gain and maintain the competiveness. Suppliers play an important role in the whole supply chain as the foundation of supply chain management.Schneider Electric, an enterprise with over170years’ history, with its business mainly in five aspects:industrial automation, power distribution equipment, infrastructure and energy control, building automation, data center and internet, has over50,000suppliers. The clarification of supplier management strategy is the foundation of supplier management of Schneider.The thesis begin with introduction of related supplier management theory and knowledge, and describe the present situation and potential problems of Schneider. One the theory base, we improved the supplier assessment system, classified and integrated the suppliers, and finally formulate the supplier management strategy. Meanwhile, Schneider try to cultivate and develop suppliers with Lean project and own experience.After the analysis and improvement of supplier management strategy, Schneider step forward on the road of supply chain management. And we hope the experience will also be benefit to other enterprises.
