The Research Of The Chemical Enterprise A About Supplier Management

Currently, the competition of the market is no longer the competition between one enterprise to another enterprise. However, the competition is the one which exists among the supply chain. Otherwise, the supply chain management becomes particularly important. The supply chain management emphasizes the strategic cooperation between upstream and downstream firms in order to achieving the optimization of the enterprise competitiveness. Supplier management, as one of the important part of the supply chain management, its effect determines the operation efficiency of the whole supply chain as well as the position in the market competition. Accordingly, enterprises pay more attention to supplier management continuously.The research object of my thesis is an enterprise of chemical industry named A. After analyzing the current business situation of A Enterprise of Chemical Industry, I firstly summarize three problems of A Enterprise of Chemical Industry in supplier management, for instance, high purchase cost and instable quality of products served by suppliers, delivering goods not in time, as well. Then, I analyze the reason of above problems in the aspects of choosing and evaluating suppliers, classifying the suppliers as well as developing and managing the suppliers. Lastly, I give some advanced suggestions in three aspects, such as building the system of supplier choosing and evaluating, optimizing the classified management of suppliers and the system of suppliers’ developing and managing. After all, A Enterprise of Chemical Industry will improve the performance index by optimizing the supplier management itself in purchase cost, quality and the date of delivery in order to enhance its competitive ability.
