In recent years, with the increased calling for protecting the environment by the people all over the world, the governments also have actively adopted various measures to further promote environmental conservation, green development and sustainable development. Traditional procurement approaches have not well updated to the current needs of the society, especially for the retail industry which is in relation to the national economy thanks to numerous products and various suppliers being involved. Therefore, the need for green procurement is more demanding. The selection of qualified green suppliers is the core of green procurement, which is the utmost importance in the business competition throughout the supply chain in today’s fierce situation. It is an unavoidable problem for every company to confront on how to select and appraise her own green supplier for the future development.Firstly, we reviewed the research at home and abroad in this field, and summarized and extracted the green procurement and green suppliers’theory. Secondly, I brought out the traditional evaluation indicators and sustainable evaluation indicators based on the study of the research both from domestic and foreign in order to determine the final indicators after selection by layer, then design the questionnaire according to the facts of multinational retailing company K, and after that I collected the data for statistical analysis. Thirdly, I took a combination of quantitative and qualitative thinking, based on factor analysis to allot the weight to each indicator and set up the model.Finally, I evaluate the appraisal with expert evaluation method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation index system, and apply the model on supplier selection and evaluation of Company K and made the final rankings of the suppliers. Based on the above analysis, this solution has been not only plagued by a multinational retailer company K for supplier selection and evaluation criteria system, but also provides a feasible solution and profound basis for the companies in the retailing industry.
