| At present in China,along with the rapid development of urbanization,thedevelopment model based on city groups has become an important way of promotingurbanization.Governments at all levels treat the development of city groups as animportant means to enhance regional economic competitiveness, improve the qualityof life of urban residents.Shandong peninsula city group is located in the easterncoastal areas of China,which is an significant part of the Bohai Economic Rim.Thisarea gathers the main advantages of resources and advanced productive forces.It is notonly the forefront of Shandong’s opening up,but also the pillars of economic,socialand cultural development.It stands for the highest level of development,being the mostpotential and energetic economic region in Shandong province.Because theinter-regional economic, political, cultural, geographical and other conditions vary,measures to improve the level of urbanization in Shandong Peninsula city group cannot copy existing development patterns.This paper studied the condition of regionaldifferentiation to have a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics ofShandong Peninsula city group urbanization’s evolution.In addition,by analyzing thefactors in regional disparity and driving mechanism,the paper proposed the realisticurbanization strategies, which are suitable for regional economy and socialconditions.What’more,It looks forward to offering theoretical and practical consultsfor the successful implement of urbanization strategy in other areas.The main contentsare as follows:(1) It summarizes the the process of urbanization in Shandong peninsula citygroup since the reform and opening.According to the average urbanization rates andpresent urbanization levels of eight cities,they are divided into high, medium and lowlevel group.After investigating the overall evolution of urbanization,the writer find thewhole urbanization progress of Shandong peninsula city group consists of threestages,including the stage of slow fluctuating growth,the stage of the rapid growth and of steady growth.Then each group cities’ urbanization change in three phases arerespectively studied.(2) Evaluation index system and the model of urbanization factors influencingregional differences in Shandong peninsula city group are built.Following the setprinciples of evaluating indicators,the evaluation index system is built on basis of thereal development of this area.The comprehensive index system is made up of tenindexes,involving the level of economic development,infrastructure conditions,naturalresources and the environment,social security and regional economyextroversion.Finally combining the grey relational theory,the relational gradesbetween these indexes and the urbanization rate are accurately calculated.(3) The grey relational grades of the three group cities in Shandong peninsulacity group are analyzed by contrast,and the results are discussed.Overall from thewhole city group,industrial structure and population density are the leading factors ofinfluencing urbanization process.To be specific,influencing factors of the urbanizationin the high level group cities mainly lie on the third industry and populationdensity.For the other two group cities,except the common factor human density,theurbanizations are closely related with the proportion of the second industry GDP.(4) The models of urbanization development in Shandong peninsula citygroup and the relative suggestions are put forward.The different models are raisedaccording to the three groups:①Advance the development of urbanization in highlevel group cities with the integration of urban and rural areas.②Promote theurbanization of the middle level group by industrialization.③Guide the promotion ofthe low level group urbanization with the model combined industrialization andacceleration of small towns’development.Then practical suggestions are proposed. |
