We have an increasing concern on the organic agriculture since we are more often under a bad condition of food safety and environment. The researches on what is the organic agriculture and how to develop organic agriculture have reached more practical significance. This thesis supports the opinion that organic agriculture is a holistic production management system which promotes and enhances agro-ecosystem health, including biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. It emphasises the use of management practices in preference to the use of off-farm inputs, taking into account that regional conditions require locally adapted systems. This is accomplished by using, where possible, agronomic, biological, and mechanical methods, as opposed to using synthetic materials, to fulfil any specific function within the system.According to this thesis, we must found a relevant organic agriculture certification system to get a sound development of China’s organic agriculture. And this thesis starts with the research on the organic agriculture certification system. In this thesis, there’s an opinion that the structure of the organic agriculture certification system should consist of three core parts:the standards of organic agriculture, the supply-demand structure of organic agriculture certification and the supervisor system of organic agriculture certification. The analysis of the organic agriculture certification system in this thesis explains how a perfect organic agriculture certification system can improve our organic agriculture’s development further. For instance, a perfect organic agriculture certification system can create a incentive and restrictive mechanism which can provide more added value in organic agriculture products. This thesis also lists some problems in our organic agriculture and some policy suggestions to solve them. According to this thesis we should take more concern on underlying problems. These problems including the legislation of organic agriculture, the organic agriculture practitioners avoid organic certification and so on.In the conclusion part, this thesis suggests that organic agriculture certification system will give a incentive and restrictive mechanism in China’s organic agriculture area at first. The followed conclusion is the new standard for China’s organic agriculture could be a rapier. The third one is the low legislation restricts the government supervision. Besides, unscrupulous businessmen have already found some new ways to bypass the new standard. At last this thesis gives opinions such as internal quality control cannot be maintain in organic agriculture, most consumers give little concern on the organic certification and the cost of organic certification may be too high for some small organic agriculture providers.
