State-owned enterprise plays a critical role in national economics under socialist economic system in China, since it functions fundamentally to the stability of society and economic development. State-owned enterprise is the backbone of a state, as well as the root of common people. Gone through the planned economy era, under current market economy environment, the state-owned enterprise is facing numbers of challenges. Among those difficulties, the fact that employee salary are under market average in most state-owned enterprise, has brought many problems, especially in employee turnover rate and enterprise sustainability. The unreasonable salary structure in state-owned enterprise can’t motivate the passion of its employees.This paper takes Zhong Cheng Chongqing Company as a case sample, to analyze the salary structure of state-owned enterprise under socialist economic system. The first chapter is the introduction, indicates the methods as well as theories and practices relevant to salary structure under market economic system both in China and internationally. The second chapter discusses the importance and functions of state-owned enterprise in socialist market economic system, and its status quo and issues. The third chapter analyses the environment of state-owned enterprise salary structure, from both macro and micro perspectives. The fourth chapter is about the layers of salary structure, including position analyze, performance evaluation, salary structure, hierarchy, promotion structure, capacity evaluation, salary survey, salary structure confirmation. The fifth chapter is case study of Zhong Cheng Chongqing, about its salary structure status, existing problems, and modification. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, which advocates a new salary model to fit for the current economic system and status, to better motivate employees.
