Innovation-oriented Theme Park Development At Leisure Economy

In the year2013, the state council of China issued the program officially, considering to develop the leisure economy, accelerate the leisure industry and lift leisure level of the whole nation in a strategic light. Theme parks, as one of the forms of leisure industry possessing most value-added and radiating force, have always been favored by the broad masses of consumers and developers. Chinese theme parks have witnessed ups and downs during its development of the last two decades. Thought the general trend of development is healthy, it still struggles for low percentage of profits. Thus, there is a urgent need to involve creativity with the background of leisure economy. The risen of leisure economy has entrusted theme parks new vigor and content, not only providing it with new opportunity and direction of development, but also new understanding and challenge which urges upgrading in innovation.This paper could be divided into four parts. The first part contains the options of relative researchers, the definition and characteristics of leisure economy nowadays, as well as the general rules of development. The second part places the development of theme parks in the background of leisure economy, makes systematical arguments about the current situation of Chinese theme park development, and analyses in details about the potential crushes and challenges of Chinese theme parks under the new economic appearance. The third part focuses on the case study of Songcheng scenic spot, which is currently one of the few successful cases in Chinese theme park industry. It is of great reference value and reference meaning to the experience of innovation. The forth part is the reflection to the upgrade plan for Chinese theme park, referring to the experience of Songcheng scenic spot. This paper also draws a conclusion to the new direction and rules to the development of theme parks in this nation, which offers suggestions with directing and practical value.
