Research On Influential Factors Of Peasants Entrepreneurial Performance

Peasant entrepreneurship is considered to be a new growth pole of economic development in rural areas under current economical and social situation. It plays a key role in promoting social and economic development in rural areas, advancing the sustainable increase of farmer’s income as well. Peasant entrepreneurship is the main way as well the breakthrough point to solve a series of complex issues appears in the process of rural development. Governments at all levels introduced a lot of policies and measures to encourage peasant entrepreneurship, then entrepreneurial environments have been improved, and peasants’entrepreneurial atmosphere becomes to be more active. The number of people may join peasant entrepreneurship group is incomparable to others, once peasant entrepreneurship rate come to improve, entrepreneurial performance have a positive growth, then this will promote social and economic development to a large extent. Peasant entrepreneurship group expand constantly at present, but peasant entrepreneurial performance does not seem be well-pleasing, and this makes the study of peasant entrepreneurial performance very necessary and urgent.Based on this, first of all, this paper reviews related theories and literatures about entrepreneurship research, entrepreneurial performance and peasant entrepreneurship research. Secondly, from the perspective of entrepreneurial performance theory, this paper tries to break through form only one single point of view, and considers to construct an empirical analysis framework of all possible factors identified with peasant entrepreneurship situation, then puts forward the hypothesis. Finally, makes verifications on empirical framework of influencing factors of initial performance of peasant entrepreneurship through applying the sample data of peasants, the factors including characteristics of peasant entrepreneur, resources which peasant entrepreneur has and entrepreneurial environments.The results of the study show that on one hand, peasants’entrepreneurial performance can play a very important role in advancing farmer’s income and improving their living standards. On the other hand, it also reveals that peasants’entrepreneurial performance needs to be further improved. The age and the physical location variables have a significant negative impact on peasants’ entrepreneurial performance. While work experience, spouse along with entrepreneurship or not, self-efficacy, self-control and social resources variables have a significant positive impact on peasants’ entrepreneurial performance.Finally, on the basis of above stated results, this paper presents three implications to improve peasants’ entrepreneurial performance. First, peasant entrepreneurs need to pay attention to the personal characteristics, give full play to their strengths, and make up for weakness positively. Second, peasant entrepreneurs should focus on the usage of existing social resources and pay attention to the construction of potential social resources. Third, peasant entrepreneurs should conduct entrepreneurial activity according to local entrepreneurial environments, and the government should focus on improving farmers’ entrepreneurial environment, improve farmer entrepreneurship policy system.
