With the development of global economic integration, the independent innovation has become a key factor in a national competition. Evaluating the independent innovation capability of regional, industry and enterprise could help the decision makers to better understand their own strengths and weaknesses. Then the makers can formulate the right business development strategy.Aerospace science and technology industry is a national strategic industry, the material and technical basis for the development and production of aerospace products, an important force in the national science and technology innovation system. Independent innovation is the essential characteristics and the inherent requirements of aerospace science and technology, is the fundamental way to the development of advanced aerospace productivity. Because of the extreme importance of national security, the unique property of aerospace and characteristics of strategic industry, the aerospace science and technology development must be a high-strength, continuous process of innovation. Only by independent innovation Aerospace science and technology industry can solve the core aerospace technology problems; only by grasping the core aerospace technology, the sustainable development of aerospace science and technology industry can be come true and national security can be protected. Independent innovation is the soul of aerospace science and technology industry development, the only way to enhance the core competitiveness of aerospace science and technology.First, the paper introduces the characteristics of the technological innovation capability and aerospace industries and analyzed the current situation of the capability of independent innovation of China’s aerospace industry. Secondly, the paper establishes the independent innovation capability evaluation index system. And then the paper takes ten listed companies for example, use the fuzzy mathematics method to analyze independent innovation capability of aerospace enterprises. The research verifies the validity of the independent innovation capability evaluation system. The study showed that the overall aerospace enterprises independent innovation capability is not high, and its evaluation results are basically consistent with the actual growth. Finally, the paper makes appropriate recommendations to enhance the capability of independent innovation of China’s aerospace industry.
