Enterprise is the main body of the market. Relying on enterprises, the society can make great progress. The development of enterprises is also inseparable from good social environment.The development strategy of enterprise not only decide the fate of the enterprise, also affect the normal social order. The rapid development of the global economy led to negative social problems. In this context, the generation of social entrepreneurs emerged. Social entrepreneurship is an emerging business model, mainly refers to the organization or individual to use innovative ways to solve social problems and take social benefits and economic benefits into account in the entrepreneurial process. The earliest social entrepreneurial organizations tend to has government background and a pure public good nature. With the continuous development of social entrepreneurship, corporate social entrepreneurship plays a huge advantage in solving social problems. Corporate social entrepreneurship refers to the enterprise improve their own abilities through creative integration of resources, while creating economic and social value. The core is to use market mechanisms to create social value. To carry out social entrepreneurship, any enterprise has its motivation. Social entrepreneurship motivation reflects the basis and premise for social entrepreneurship. Taking the enterprise as object, this paper aims to explore its motivation for social entrepreneurship.This paper first reviews the representative theory of domestic and foreign scholars on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship motivation, and then makes a summery of the theory. Based on the theory, the specific problem and preliminary theoretical framework of this study are proposed. Then design a multi-case survey scheme, according to the characteristics of the research problem. Through the data collection and field research on three enterprises, we get a lot of first-hand data and secondary data. In the initial stage of data analysis, classify and organize all the data establish a case study database for each individual enterprise. In the depth stage of data analysis, first the independent case analysis is carried out within the case, and then summarizes entrepreneurial motivation embodied in each corporate social entrepreneurial activity respectively. Through the cross-case analysis to identify the common characteristics of three different corporate social entrepreneurship motivation, and refines the driving factors of enterprise social entrepreneurship. On this basis, build a theoretical model of corporate social entrepreneurial motivation.This case study shows that:enterprise social entrepreneurship motivation mainly has five aspects, namely:social demand, policy support, social mission, interest returns and social resources. Five aspects of the motivational factors are corresponding with both the previous social entrepreneurship theory and the reality of corporate social entrepreneurial activities. Corporate social entrepreneurial motivation explains why corporate practice in social entrepreneurship, reflects the dual purpose of social and economic benefits, and reveals the essence of social entrepreneurship. Subsequently the conclusions of the study were discussed in-depth. Accordingly, put forward targeted policies and recommendations for the government departments and business organizations. In the end of this study, point out the lack of this study and the directions for future research.
