Impact Study Of ASEAN Trade Facilitation On Chinese Electronic Goods Trade Growth

In recent years, with the continuous development of world economic integration, intra-product specialization,as a new form of the international division of labor, has attracted the attention of more and more countries and regions. Among them, the most typical one is East Asia-China-United States electronics triangular trade patterns. During intra-product trade process, the various production processes in the interface and integration between different countries and regions, as well as parts and other intermediate products of many cross-border exchange will inevitably lead to increased transaction costs, trade facilitation is just to reduce transaction costs and improve transaction efficiency. How to improve the level of trade facilitation in ASEAN countries and to promote the development of China’s electronic products trade will be the core of this paper.This paper calculates the comprehensive index of the trade facilitation using indexes of port efficiency, customs environment, regulatory environment and e-commerce, in order to measure the trade facilitation. Through analyzing the current situation of Chinese electronic goods trade, it also empirically analyzes the relationship between ASEAN trade facilitation and China electronic goods trade performance. This paper empirically analyzed the effects on china electronic goods trade from the direct and indirect angels. Firstly, we regard ASEAN as a whole to analyze its trade facilitation impact on China’s electronic goods export to the world. The results showed that in the general context, ASEAN trade facilitation played a significant role in boosting the exports of China’s electronics industry. Next, we use modified gravity model to analyze the impact of ASEAN trade facilitation on electronics trade between ASEAN and China. The results indicate that trade facilitation has significant effect on ASEAN-China electronic goods trade flow. On the basis of previous estimated parameters coefficient, the paper predicts the potential of China electronic goods export flow by using the regression model.The higher ASEAN improve their trade facilitation level, the more trade flow will happen between China and ASEAN Finally, put forward the corresponding policy and enlightment according to the conclusion of this paper.
