Land is the natural resource base of human survival and development. Land plays a very important role in the process of urbanization, which has always been inseparable with the aggregation of the population, the adjustment of industrial structure and the infrastructure. With the development of social and economy and the promotion of urbanization, the research of changes of land use has become a new hot spot for concern. Very limited land resources not only are the basis and carrier for regional economics, but also is the space constraints for regional industrial development. In the past ten years, Liaoning’s urbanization process has made remarkable achievement. But with so large a population and less arable land reserve resources, there is not only a sharp contradiction of supply and demand of land for construction, but also a serious waste of land use, which make the implementation of Liaoning urbanization faced enormous challenges. Therefore, the studies on the land use of Liaoning province in the process of urbanization is of great strategic significance to the rational choice of Liaoning urbanized development pattern, the promotion of the revitalization of the northeast old industrial base and sustainable use of land resource. This paper selects Liaoning Province as the research object, studying the low efficiency and unreasonable land structure caused by the further development of the urbanization. Using the entropy method, the structure of quantitative analysis methods and data envelopment analysis, this paper makes respectively analysis of the urbanization level of Liaoning,14regions’ land use structure and Liaoning’1996-2009land use structural efficiency, and finally comes to concludes the optimization of the land use structure countermeasures.
