The present urbanization level of our country has already been up to 41.7% , the urbanization is developing rapidly. The population is increasing and the land used for construction is being expanded constantly in the city. At the same time the industrial structure and the structure of the land use in the city are changing sharply. The expansion of the city area and transition of the land use structure in the city must bring the enormous society and economic benefits to city, but also cause many questions unavoidable in the development of the city. For example, the imbalance between supply and demand of land is sharp, cultivated land resources are in short supply and pollution of water and soil is serious day by day. The suburbs of city have particular position, its land use is influenced by the urbanization process of suburbs and is limited by agricultural land. It often becomes first-selected region where many cities solve"urban disease", evacuate the population of old city and relieve the pressure of enterprises and the traffic. It is the location where the complexity, dynamics and transition of land type are abundant. It is the area where the conflict between supply and demand of the land is the sharpest and concentrated. The text choose Fenjin countryside of Changchun as the typical district, choose RS and GIS as the technological platform, utilize serial statistical data of land use from 1990 to 2002 , remote sensing image and actual census data, adopt ARC and statistical analysis method to analyze the change of land use structure in the process of urbanization, achieve the pace, range , trend and shift matrix of land use change; At the same time analyzing economy, social and ecological benefit. The result shows: the agricultural area is reduced year by year, construction area is increased gradually, the social economic benefits are obviously improved, but the ecological benefits of the land drop to some extent. The urbanization process is developing quickly but it sacrifices the environments. This paper has five parts together, Part one is the forewords, Part two is the overview of studying area, Part three is the data processing of the studying area, Part four is the pace-time analysis of land use structure change, Part five is the suggestion of the land use management, Part six is the conclusion.
