In recent years, competition faced by the banking industry becomes increasinglyfierce. If commercial Banks want to gain sustainable competitive advantage, it is necessaryto have a high quality talent team. As a bridge between our clients and banks, clientmanagers become important human resources for commercial Banks. At present, ourcountry commercial banks face many problems in client managers’ management. Theapplication of the Competence model in the management of client managers has the vitalsignificance..Take JS bank as an example, firstly, through analyzing the current situation of JS bankclient managers’ management, this paper preliminarily determines the competencecharacteristics of JS bank client manager by behavioral event interview method, led byCompetence theory. Then this paper designs the JS bank client manager competencyquestionnaire on this basis. Through processing and analyzing the data, this paperconstructs the JS bank client manager competency model, which consisting of five level-1factors and twenty level-2factors. Among these factors level-1factors including marketexpansion, knowledge and skills, job characteristic, professional ethics and drive.Moreover, this paper has a comprehensive research on the application of competencemodel in recruitment, training and performance management on JS bank clients manager,which giving a detailed instruction to management work.In the past, the study of competence model mainly focused on theory-based level.Grounded in management requirement from JS bank client manager, we applyCompetency model to the real management of commercial banks client managers’management and it shows that the related study to this problem is full of practical andtheoretical significance of the practical results. Above all, on one hand, the results of thisthesis will be an extension for the theory of competency model, and on the other hand, itwill provide new references for commercial bank client manager’s management practices.
