Competency Model And Assessment Of The Client Manager

Competency is an integral traits which can notably differentiate those excellent from ordinary staff. How to establishment of competency model is one of the critical issues in the fields of Organizational Behavior, human resource management in the last 30 years. It is also one of the frontier issues in the study on human resource theory and its practice all over the world.The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the competency model of the client managers in internet companies. Several methods, such as behavior event interview, transcript content analysis, questionnaire survey were used in this study. The main results are that:(1)The constructed competency model of the client manager includes two kinds of traits:threshold competency and diagnostic competency. The diagnostic competency own some specific traits, such as:success motivation, objection pursuit, hardworking, self-confidence, mind-open, toughness, learning capacity, flexibility, relationship-building and maintaining, plan executing and coping with setback.(2) A test of client manager competency was developed. Through the explore factor analysis,six factors had been extracted, includes achievement motivation, personality, interpersonal character, ideation, interpersonal skill and special service ability. The test showed a good reliability and validity(Cronbach a=0.860).(3) the application of competency model was investigated in the Human Resource Management. Based on the confirmed weighting coefficient of each dimension obtained from The method of Analytic Hierarchy Process, we put forward the training methods in connection with competency., which set the stage for the company selecting and training.
