Urban spatial structure is the reflection of urban function system on district and spacefor any urban economical and social activity would be located a specific spot on the urbanarea, and reacts the urban spatial structure in return. Since urban spatial structure andeconomical and social structure presents not only a coordinative but also a contradictoryrelationship, problem on urban space is surely a primary cause of “the urban disease” andaffects other urban problems. It is the dramatic urbanization that makes fast growth ofurban economy with the fast industrial transformation and transition, population explosion,and hurried facilities construction, there is a badly sprawl on any city in China. Especially,the mega-city as Beijing, or Shanghai with a obvious faster urbanization than the averageof the whole country, pretends a worse spatial expansion and sprawl resulting in anextensive utility for the scarce urban land, and the occurrence of “the worse urban disease”as transportation chocks and higher counter cost, etc. which will be much harmful to thesustainable and sound development of the city. Therefore, the research will have a greatsignificance on promoting Beijing’s new urbanization strategy to reach on the urbandevelopment objectives.Aiming at reality of dramatic spatial expansion of Beijing at current stage andreferencing the relevant theories on urban space expansion, the thses describes the future ofBeijing’s urban expansion in three dimensions as space layout characteristics, populationurban economy distribution using the data from Beijing Statistics Yearbook and the2ndEconomic Census.
