Aresearch On The Urbanization Quality Of Gansu Province

Urbanization is a product of industrialization, in the past, peoplefocused on the speed of urbanization and the quantity of urban expansion.It is when numerous problems such as ecologic damage、environmentpollution、traffic jam and the appearance of urban villages have appearedthat force people to consider the quality of urbanization. Since Gansuprovince entered into the stage of urbanization rapid development in2005,it achieves great development. But at the same time, such problems asecologic damage、traffic jam also have appeared too, so the governmentbegin to realize that the development of urbanization on Gansu shouldfocus on its quality.Based on the above statement, this paper tries to build a frameworkof the urbanization quality to precisely measure the quality of Gansuprovince. As the empirical result shows, we find three main outcomes.First, from2006to2011the urbanization quality of Gansu province andthe China have improved a lot, especially the quality of life have greatlyimproved, but the ecological quality of them both have fallen since2009.Second, the urbanization quality of Gansu province have always behindthe average development of China, especially the quality of life. Third,the subordinate area of Gansu province also improved a lot in urbanization quality, but it exist a great gap among them. And onlyLanzhou, Jiayuguan exceed the average urbanization quality of China.
