Research On Evaluation And Influencing Factors Of Circulation Efficiency Of Agricultural Products

Six central provinces of China (Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi, and Shanxi)occupy an irreplaceable position in the field of supply of agricultural products andagricultural products circulation system. Since the reform and opening up, the marketconstruction and circulation of agricultural products have also achieved good results,but the area in the circulation of agricultural products and market integration is stillfacing series of problems. Meanwhile, empirical research on the agricultural marketintegration and the circulation efficiency of agricultural products is extremely lacking,few authoritative, groundbreaking research results come out. In recent years, coupledwith the government and the community become more emphasis on agriculturalproducts circulation problems, and thus taking some empirical research on integrationof agricultural markets and the circulation efficiency of agricultural products of thecentral area and the whole country, will have a positive practical and theoreticalsignificance. Based on this, in order to focus on empirical analysis, a study focuses onthe following aspects: First, some issues are cleared, such as the concept of marketintegration and circulation efficiency of agricultural products, the impacting factors,evaluating way, the relationship between them. Second, take on a relatively qualitativestudy of the status circulation of agricultural products and market integration and themain problems of the six central provinces. Third, based on the relative price varianceanalysis, evaluate the integration degree of agricultural markets of the six centralprovinces and the country quantitatively. Fourth, based on DEA-Tobit two-stagemethod, use super-efficiency model evaluate the efficiency of agricultural productscirculation, and then use the Tobit model focuses on an empirical analysis of theefficiency of agricultural products circulation and its affecting factors.The main conclusions of empirical analysis are:First, over the past decade, China’s indice of agricultural market segmentationshowed a stable convergence trend, market integration degree is also graduallyimproving with some fluctuations, but showed some regional differences. The marketintegration degree of Central area is the highest, and its progress speed is the fastest. In six central provinces, the market integration level from high in the end is: Henan,Hubei, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Anhui, and Hunan; the progress speed of market integrationfrom fast to slow is: Anhui, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, and Hunan.Second, the evaluation results indicate that the efficiency of agricultural productscirculation, over the past decade, was the overall efficiency of agricultural productscirculation steadily improving trend, also showed large regional differences.Efficiency is the highest circulation of the northeast, eastern, central and westernregions are the lowest; points provinces to see, circulation of agricultural products isthe most efficient of the three provinces of Shanghai, Heilongjiang and Jilin, thelowest Ningxia, Qinghai and Tibet; The gap of six provinces in ranking is large, theflow from high to low efficiency are Henan, Hunan, Shanxi, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangxi.Third, the empirical analysis of circulation efficiency of agricultural products andits factors indicates that the carrier factors have the largest affection, the supportingfactors weaker, followed by distribution channels factors. Among them, the degree ofmarket segmentation has the great impact on the efficiency of agricultural productscirculation, and showed significantly negative effect; circulation of agriculturalinfrastructure and social services has lagged far behind, is another important factorbehind the degree of market segmentation; agricultural commodities the rate ofcirculation of agricultural products also has an important positive impact on efficiency;affect labor productivity and capital investment factors of agricultural productscirculation efficiency of agricultural products circulation although significant, but theimpact is very small; transport conditions, fluctuations in market prices of agriculturalproducts, agricultural products market operating capabilities and the level ofinformation on the circulation of agricultural products circulation of agriculturalefficiency also has some influence, but specific performance is slightly different.
