Land-use and land-cover change (LUCC) is a research focus in global changestudies. North-west karst regions in Guangxi is the typical ecological fragile areas, theecological migration project must be implemented due to the harsh conditions. Thediversity and complexity of land use change in ecological immigrants area determinesthe necessity and urgency of land use change research. From the perspective offarmers, take the ecological immigrants area of6Tuns in Jinqiao Country, located inDaan Town of Huanjiang County in Guangxi as a case, with SPOT-5high-resolutionremote sensing images in2011as a data source, based on Participatory Mapping, reappears land use conditions in1996,2004and2011, to analysis the spatial-temporalcharacteristics of land use. Based on Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), obtainedthe first-hand population, economic and social information, use thedegree of grey incidences model to quantitative analysis the driving force of localland use change. The main conclusions as following:(1) Land use types of the study area are cultivated land, construction land, grassland, forest land, waters and unused land. From the quantitative point of view, the cultivated land increased fast firstly and then decreased slowly in15years, theconstruction land expansion, the grassland sustained shrink sharply, the forest landincreased slowly firstly and then increased rapidly, unused land and waters essentiallyunchanged. The degree of land use change can be divided into two periods withradical development (1996-2004) and slow adjustment (2004-2011), and the former isslightly larger than the latter. The change of land use types between1996-2004and2004-2011are different, during1996-2004the grassland was mainly transfer to thecultivated land and the forest land, the increased construction land is mainly from thecultivated land, the forest land and the grassland, moreover during2004-2011thegrassland and the cultivated land was changed into the forest land. Pay attention to theshift of the land use, the gravity center of the cultivated land continued move to east, the gravity center of the grassland changed to the north and west firstly, and then thesouth and east, dramatically, the gravity center of the forest land continued move to the north and west, the gravity center of the construction land shift to the south-east,unused land and waters unchanged.(2)Use the degree of grey incidences model to quantitative analysis the drivingforce of local land use change. The results showed that: the population, labor, grainyield, the average of fertilizer utilization and farming income have a greater influenceon the cultivated land; the population, farming income and the per capita housing landhave high correlation with the construction land; per capita food production, percapita manmade forest area and the population are main factors affecting thegrassland; per capita farming income, per capita total income, per capita manmadeforest area and the population are main factors affecting the forest land. In summary, land use change is a complex process, subjected to various factors. Land usechange in the study area is mainly affected by land settlement policies, population, land ownership, income levels and other aspects of the combined effects. Whichresettlement project by immigrant population, per capita arable land, homestead areaper capita for local land use have a huge impact.
