The Exploration Of Economic Development Of Small Towns Within The Hinterland Of Mineral Industrial Metropolis

In the background of urbanization process and the level of urbanization continues to accelerate in China, small towns as the link transfer station and connection between urban and rural areas, has a very important role in the urbanization process. The small towns which are in the surrounding area of the big city in a certain economic area, are affected by the city’s radiation, diffusion, the surrounding rural hinterland, and its own rural city development process. Its development has a positive effect to the regional urbanization process, regional economic development and promoting the integration of urban and rural areasWith experiences of urbanization, cities aiming for industrialization face challenges when development of city reaches certain levels, such as low competitiveness, improper structure, and lack of high tech industry. These problems need to be addressed. This paper illustrates the background of the theory city industrialization, combined with successful examples of other countries. It discusses theories such as centralization, based on a typical industrialized city and some towns nearby; the paper analyzes the close relationship between functions of them. The paper also discusses the merits and drawbacks of city development in Tangshan and proposes the direction of future development. This paper particularly analyzes the economic development shortcomings in Daodi and the important role it plays in economic development of Tangshan. The paper further points out how to cooperate with development of other nearby cities. Finally, the paper discusses the strategies for economic development for Daodi, that is, with its own advantages, the city should gradually reform its local economy, expanding the outlook, focusing on developing a most suitable model for economic development in Daodi.In conclusion, Daodi Town in Tangshan City should be based on the location advantages, making full use of the characteristics of the local economy, and reasonably planning the sustainable development of small towns, in order to further promote the Economic development of Daodi Town in Tangshan City.
