Under the background of the times of in the deepening of the urban and rural development and strengthening the agricultural industrialization and socialist new rural construction, land transfer has become the realistic choice to promote "three rural" development. And the households are not only subjects of rural production, but also the micro decision-making body of land circulation, who has participated in the land circulation including the outflow and inflow and still in the agricultural activities of households has become a new hot spot of concern. In recent years, the impact of land transfer on fanners’ agricultural production activities is growing, and the original allocation of resources in rural areas have been changing. It is an urgent to analyze farmers’land use which determines the land transfer process and effect after land circulation. In order to explore the influence of land transfer, guide farmers’ land use behavior, improve the efficiency of land resources use, this paper comparative analyzed households planting structure, input level and resource utilization in Sichuan Province according to the different levels of economic development. This paper mainly put forward the analysis of farmers’ land use behavior theory under land transfer with the households’ land use behavior theory. By the surveying data of3counties and167households, Pixian represented for economically developed areas, Jialing for the more economically developed areas, and Lezhi for economically backward areas in particular, the paper descriptively analyzed land transfer and land use situation, studied their overall impact on the households’ land use, whose behavior in response to farmland circulation were also studied. This paper was expected to provide reasonable guidance to fanner’ land use and improve the rate of land utilization and rural output by using multiple linear regression model and principal component regression model, explaining the mechanism of land transfer to the households’land use behavior, as well as the reason of behavior changes. In this study, the main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)The paper constructed the households’land use behavior model, assumed that households in aggregates premise of limited scale land, labor time constraints, technology and capital, thus, land transfer would inevitably change land resources, capital, and labor, these could lead to social and economic development, agricultural land ownership security, land resource endowment and farmers agricultural technology. Under the constraints of family characteristics, socio-economic conditions and policy regimes, the households differed the production and management of land for food needs and economic considerations, which made the differences between the patterns, degree, intensity of land use, and also differed by region.(2) The paper found that93.41%farmers of the study area agreed that land transfer would bring the family new development opportunities by descriptive statistical analysis. It showed that farmland transfer had a significant influence on patterns of the land use which was prompted from low efficiency to high-efficiency through farmers’ land use behavior before and after land transfer, also proved in the overall sample. On the other hand, it was significantly affected on the degree or intensity, both changed in the10%,20%. Different levels of economic development made a big difference to farmers’ land use after land transfer, households in economically developed areas would mainly demand for food, use of land lowly, in the more economically developed areas for food demand and profits Requirements coordination, grow food crops and cash crops together, use higher, and in backward areas would use the land highest for profit demands.(3) The paper concluded that three variables reflected land transfer including land transfer rates, land transfer price and market-oriented land transfer by multivariate regression model, only the second made a significant impact on land use patterns, land transfer rates and its price Significantly affected land use degree, and the influence of market-oriented land transfer for intensity was too small to ignore. It is suggested that land transfer made an insignificant effect on farmers’ land use for its small-scale, limited scale of operations and relatively low-degree.(4) This paper studied that the impact of land transfer and the response from farmers’ land use behavior is through the adjustment in land use patterns, degree, intensity by farmers. The characteristics of family factor, land transfer factor, family income factors had negative effect on behavior of households in the overall sample, and its order was land transfer factor, family income factors and family factor by principal component regression model, which explained why farmers’ land use behavior changed. the different regions for different levels of economic development made a difference to farmers’ land use after land transfer, also difference between the factor direction and degree. Land circulation of the economically developed Pixian affected households’land use behavior less evidently to meet the family members living demand mainly, while backward Lezhi farmers’ land use behavior was to pursue maximization of utility and land transfer had an obvious effect on land use, and Jialing was in the intermediate position for the dual needs of life and economic demand.
