The Study On The Relationship Between Network Capability And Enterprise Innovation Performance

With the rapidly changing market environment and the increasing competition amongenterprises, continuous innovation has become an important way for enterprises tomaintain a competitive advantage. Knowledge is the basis of innovation,and it is a lso themain driving force of economic growth and productivity growth. Under the background ofthe network environment and the era of the knowledge economy, it is more difficult forindividual enterprises to grasp all the knowledge and key technologies needed byinnovation.How to promote enterprise innovation performance through knowledgemanagement has become a heated issue among the theorists and practitioners.Most of the existing studies investigate the direct impact of network capability oninnovation performance, while few of them pay attention on mediating variables, thus thestudy on the impact mechanism of network capability on innovation performance is stillnot mature. Through arranging and commenting on the related studies, this paper firstlymakes a discussion on the relationships among network capabilities, knowledgemanagement capability and innovation performance. Based on that discussion, the authordefines the dimensions and concepts of each variable. Secondly according to thetheoretical derivation, the author builds the theoretical model of the impact of networkcapability on innovation performance through knowledge management capability.Meanwhile the research hypotheses are proposed. Thirdly, by drawing on existing researchmeasurement scale, questionnaires are designed to acquire research data. Then reliability,validity, correlation and regression analysis are done by using SPSS19.0to test thetheoretical model and hypotheses.Thus,this study obtains the internal mechanism of thenetwork capability’s impact on innovation performance.Through the work above, some conclusions are drawn in this study:(1)Network capacity has a significant positive effect on innovation performance;(2)Knowledgeacquisition capability also has a remarkable positive effect on innovation performance, butknowledge integration capability has not;(3)Each dimension of network capacity shows atremendous positive effect on knowledge acquisition capacity, but not on knowledgeintegration capability;(4)The mediating effect of knowledge acquisition capability issignificant between network capacity and innovation performance;(5)Knowledgeintegration capability does not mediate effectively between network visioning capacity andalso between network placeholder capability and innovation performance.However,it posesremarkable mediating effect on network operating capability and innovationperformance,and also on network constructing capability and innovation performance.
