The motivation theory tells that the most effective motivation driving people to devotethemselves into their work is to satisfy their real needs. Senior Managers are a specialgroup of human resources, and their individual career development has kept a very closerelationship with the company’s growth. Senior Managers want the employer to offer aplatform with opportunities for their career development, so that they are able to enhancetheir capability and maintain their career competition. As a matter of fact, the employerfrom the company also expects the Senior Managers to make full use of their talents andcareer strength to contribute to the completion of the company’s targets. How to motivatethe Senior Managers by satisfying their needs toward the career development has been animportant priority for HR management in most companies.This paper has started from defining Senior Managers, Career, Career Developmentand Motivation, offers a prepared base for the further studies about the solutions to SeniorManagers’ career development motivation. This differentiates it from a regular procedurefor low-level employees, dominates the diversity of career development motivation onlyfor Senior Managers. Secondly, based on the theory studies, this paper has collected andanalyzed the relevant concepts, theories, research results. Additionally, this paper hasinvestigated and used the obtained data, found out their needs with their furtherexpectations on a system for their career development motivation. Thirdly, this paper hasfigured out the author’s ideas about improving the guideline of Senior Managers’ careerdevelopment motivation, kept the principles of secured income, motivation with needs andconsistent motivation by establishing an internal procedure to tell the process. Finally, thispaper has also been telling some applicable suggestions for Senior Managers’ careerdevelopment motivation, which might be referred by the other companies for further study.
