It tells the reason why so many world famous enterprises achieve great success,and brings new energy to lots of enterprises who are looking forward to newopportunities. Corporate culture, a brand-new management theory, can not onlyeffectively improve the management level of enterprises, but also enhance the corecompetitiveness of enterprises and promote the continual development of enterprises.After joining the WTO, with the development of socialist market economy, many raredevelopment opportunities appear to the commercial banks. In the meanwhile, thecontinuous appearance of many multi-national banks and complicated economicalsituation also brings great challenge to the development of those commercial banks.How to adapt to the new situation, gain stable long-term development in such acomplicated economical situation has became a new task to the commercial banks.The enterprise cultural construction of commercial banks is not something newat the international level. Citibank’s success has already showed the great rolecorporate culture played in its development. Though the enterprise culturalconstruction of our commercial banks has picked up a bit, it still has some limitations,such as lacking of understanding, institutional deficiencies, and lacking ofcharacteristic. China Minsheng bank, as a new star of Chinese banks, explores thefiles which others won’t or daren’t to set foot in. Its business ideas and innovativespirit make itself gain rapid development. During the17years, China Minsheng bankgradually builds its excellent corporate culture in the process of operating andmanagement. In turn, the excellent corporate culture plays a great part in itsdevelopment. That’s the reason why China Minsheng Bank can get a head start andstand out in such a fierce competition. However, corporate culture is not invariable.To enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises and provide an inexhaustiblesource of motive, China Minsheng Bank has to continually improve and develop itsenterprise cultural construction. This paper firstly elaborates the concept, content, characteristic and functions ofcorporate culture, analyzes the necessity of the enterprise cultural construction forcommercial banks. Then, the paper presents the general situation of China MinshengBank as well as the principle and the content of its enterprise cultural construction. Italso gets a lot of information by questionnaire and interview. Based on the study ofresults, the advantages and disadvantages of China Minsheng Bank’s enterprisecultural construction are very easy to see. After a detailed analysis of the underlyingcauses of these problems, some measures are put forward to improve the enterprisecultural construction of China Minsheng Bank, hoping to provide a new idea for theenterprise cultural construction of China Minsheng Bank.
