Research On The Effects Of RMB’s Exchange Rate Change To Anhui’s Export Commodity Structure

Exchange rate is a comprehensive index of price and has great influence on countries’ economic activities. As a economic variable, exchange rate has always been studied by economists. With the deepening of reform and opening-up, China’s international economic activities is growing, so is the effects of RMB’s exchange rate to China’s economy. Economists start paying more and more attentions on the influence of exchange rate to international trade. In recent years we encourage optimizing trade structure. As a basic aspect of international trade, export commodity structure deserves more attentions.it is necessary to find out how exchange rate change affect export commodity structure.Since last century, Anhui’s economy keeps growing and has a great development in every aspect. After2000, Anhui’s growth is even faster, and Anhui’s international trade has also been greatly improved. At2010, the establishment of Wanjiang City Belt has further promoted Anhui’growth. Both the expending of exports and the optimization of the export commodity structure, have made significant progress, but there is still a certain distance between Anhui and other developed provinces.This paper uses relevant data from2000to2012to study the relationship between exchange rate change and export commodity structure. Start with theories, the influence of exchange rate change on export commodity structure has been described from different suspects, then the article make a brief introduction to the change of RMB’s exchange rate regime and Anhui’s export commodity structure, this part also shows their trends and the current problems of Anhui. Then after empirical analysis of data, conclusions are as follows:First, RMB’s exchange rate change has a long-term influence on Anhui’s export commodity structure. Second, this influence is negative, and it doesn’t happen immediately. Third, it also can be positive to Anhui’s export commodity structure when RMB’s exchange rate is getting higher.Finally, this paper gave some advices for current problems to help Anhui adjusting the change of environment and improving Anhui’s export commodity structure.
