A Study Of The Competitiveness Of Manufacturing Industry In Jiiin Province

As a mainstay industry of the national economy, manufacturing is the dominantsector in national economy and it’s also the basis for national economictransformation; its development is a sign of industrialization. The strength ofmanufacturing competitiveness affected and decided the world economic status of acountry or a region. It’s an important part of the overall strength of a notion or aregion. As an important national industrial base of China, transportation equipmentmanufacturing, food processing, chemical materials and chemical productsmanufacturing became its major industries. As an important component of thenational economy, the development of manufacturing in Jilin province plays asupporting role in the overall development of China’s manufacturing industry. Basedon the previous researcher’ studies, this paper built a regional manufacturingcompetitiveness evaluation index system. In order to know Jilin’s manufacturingindustry level and status of all the country, this article analyzed the overallcompetitiveness of the manufacturing in five sub-elements. In order to discover theadvantages and disadvantages of Jilin province’s manufacturing industry further, thispaper also compared internal Northeast China.This paper is divided into five parts. The first chapter is the introduction; itintroduced the background and significance of this topic, and then the method,innovation and existing problems of the article. The second chapter is aboutliterature review; it summarized many important domestic and foreign studies andresearch methods on competitiveness in the past thirty years. The third chapter is theconnotation of the competitiveness and evaluation method of manufacturing competitiveness. It introduced the advantage theory, agglomeration theory andinnovation theory, and their different views on competitiveness. Then illustrated theconstruction principle of manufacturing competitiveness evaluation index systemand built an index system that contains two-level indicators to evaluate thecompetitiveness of the manufacturing industry. At last it introduced the data source,the evaluation method and scoring method of manufacturing competitiveness. Thefourth chapter is the evaluation and analysis of manufacturing competitiveness inJilin province. It first evaluated the scores and rankings of the five sub-elements andthe overall competitiveness of manufacturing in Jilin province, and then comparedthe five sub-elements and the overall competitiveness of manufacturing internalNortheast China to discovered the advantages and disadvantages of Jilin province’smanufacturing industry. The fifth chapter is the conclusion and suggestions.Summed up the analysis results preceding and drew conclusions, then gave someproposals to develop the manufacturing of Jilin province.
