Location theory reflects the objective law of social and economic spatial organization.And it is also the basic theory of tourism spatial structure. Tourism spatial structure isreasonable or not, which directly plays a promoting or hindering role on the tourism economicbenefit. Construction of spatial structure has a important guiding significance for the directionof regional tourism planning and developing, optimization of function and deployment amongeach tourism region, and the making of tourism development strategy. With the continuousdevelopment of society and the coming of experience economic era, the unalterable tourismproduct can not meet diversification individual requirements of tourism consumer market.Difference tourism product development strategy can meet the diversification demand ofconsumers; avoid the low price adverse competition of tourism product homogeneity and theinterest conflict that among the tourism businessmen. Location Theory has been run throughthe papers for the differences development of tourism products, and takes the LocationTheory as the guiding ideology in Liaoning coastal economic zone.On July1,2009, Liaoning coastal economic zone development has been incorporatedinto national strategies. Liaoning coastal economic zone should make full use of the favorableopportunity, realize tourism rapid development. Tourism resource is rich in Liaoning coastaleconomic zone, and has significantly advantages in location. But there are some problems intourism, such as spatial-temporal pattern is unreasonable, the depth of integration anddevelopment is not enough, lack of diversification and specialized tourism product, themining of tourism resources connotation is not enough, and tourism products are inadequatepublicity and lack pertinence, etc. The paper analyzes existing related research results andcurrent conditions of the tourism development in Liaoning coastal economic zone, anddescribes the significance of difference strategy for tourism product development. Finally,based on all the analysis build a spatial competition model of tourism product differentiation,and from concept, hierarchy, theme and service four aspects do the specific research oftourism product in Liaoning coastal economic zone.
