Cultivated land is a basic survival condition of human and a scarce resource to human society. However, the amount of cultivated land is limited. With the rapid development of urbanization, much high-quality arable land is occupied. With the sharply reduction of cultivated land and the increasingly prominent contradiction between cultivated land and socioeconomic development, it is important to explore reasonable configurable patterns of the utilization of cultivated land which may helps to use cultivated land resources effectively and intensively. Qianjiang district is located in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, and it distributed vast area of low mountains so cultivated land there are relatively scarce and difficult to exploit. To guarantee sustainable development of Qianjiang, obeying the red line of cultivated land and ensuring cultivated land meet the needs of social development is the inevitable choice in the future. At present, the study of the intensive use of cultivated land pays much attention to the combination with city land use in foreign, but studies which evaluated the intensive use of cultivated land separately are rare. Moreover, most domestic scholars draw lessons from foreign research and the research of intensive utilization of cultivated land mainly extend from the intensive utilization of urban land, so the study of the intensive use of cultivated land is still at the preliminary stage. Besides, the evaluation in domestic studies focus on macroscopic evaluation, which ignore the effect of district factors when structuring the evaluation index system. In addition, domestic researchers always only give broad evaluation measures, but research about configurable patterns of intensive utilization of cultivated land, especially for the mountain area, is obvious insufficiently. In the background of cultivated land decrease and degradation, this paper referenced large number of domestic and foreign literature. Then I begin to evaluate the cultivated land intensive utilization comprehensive level and explore the configurable patterns of cultivated land intensive utilization. Firstly, I explored the current situation of cultivated land utilization and analysed the characteristics of quantity, quality and dynamic changing of cultivated land in Qianjiang. Secondly, I screened and constructed a evaluation index system for intensive use of cultivated land in Qianjiang, determined the reasonable standard value, and used the analytic hierarchy process to determine the effective index weight, used multi-objective comprehensive factors method to obtain the score of cultivated land intensive use, then I explored the spatial difference of cultivated land in Qianjiang. Finally, according to the research results, I divided region and put forward applicable configurable patterns of cultivated land intensive utilization in different regions, then proposed effective measures in Qianjiang. The results show:(1) At present, limited by the complicated topography, the problem of too much slope cropland, shortage of reserve resources of arable land, poor quality and disproportionate ratio of output to input do exist.(2) According to comprehensive evaluation results, the stage of intensive use of cultivated land in Qianjiang is at the appropriate stage and is close to the intensive utilization. The efforts Qianjiang took to optimize the intensive utilization of cultivated land has begun to work, but the stamina of cultivated land intensive is insufficient, so it is worrying that the future development prospects of Qianjiang.(3)The spatial difference of intensive utilization of cultivated land and the polarization phenomenon is obvious in Qianjiang, and the level of intensive utilization of cultivated land is positively correlated with regional natural quality. However, the social economic factor still accounts for absolute effect to intensive utilization of cultivated land.(4) To achieve optimal configurable patterns and effective intensive utilization of cultivated land, it is necessary to divide districts, because of the development of the industry, location advantage, function, natural conditions factors are different,. This paper has explored five optimal configurable patterns for intensive utilization of cultivated land, they are the rural-urban fringe zone of intensive cultivated land use pattern, agricultural eco-tourism mode, agricultural products trade mode of cultivated land, sustainable utilization of cultivated land resources high-efficiency and saving, and characteristic agriculture base of cultivated land intensive use mode. However, because the township is the administrative region which has multiple properties, the boundary of the five kinds of modes is not clear. Therefore, in addition to the most suitable mode, other modes can also be combined with each other flexibility. Finally, in order to ensure the implementation of the intensive patterns of cultivated land, I put forward a series of measures for Qianjiang.
