Ecological problems of human society has become one of the most important issues of the21st century.The question how to protect the ecological environment in the development of the current economy is the dilemma faced by many countries.There is a close relationship between economic growth and the environment, ensuring sustainable economic growth and protect the ecological environment is a good development of a long-standing conflict dilemma:on the one hand, rapid economic growth will lead to increased pollutants.it caused ecological environment quality fall; on the hand, decreased quality or deterioration of ecological environment in turn will limit economic growth, it leads sustainable economic development not to be achieved.Three Gorges Reservoir area is extremely important to sensitive ecological economic zone and typical of poor mountainous country. Because of economic and social backwardness,their ecological function areas can not bear the responsibility90%of the Three Gorges reservoir area in Chongqing and wanzhou district is both a national poverty city and the Three Gorges reservoir area in the hinterland cities. It is a very important strategic significance the Wanzhou District environment the quality leads to long-term safe operation of the Three Gorges Project, the Yangtze River flood control and ecological security. Wanzhou District is a poor and ecofragil area in Chongqing. how to protect the ecological environment is more urgent and challenging. On the one hand, the development of the regional economy, eliminate poverty and achieve economic growth in the region is the bounden duty of Wanzhou District; On the other hand, protecting the environment, particularly the soil、water and plant resources along the Yangtze River Water is the inevitable Wanzhou District historical mission.This paper discusses the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment on the basis of the existing research on the theory. Because of the particularity of the,establish the statistical data to analyze the relationship between economic growth and ecological Wanzhou District environmental based on economic growth indicators of three Gorges Reservoir area from2002to2011.The statistical data contain GDP per capita in Wanzhou District where is the hinterland of Three Gorges Reservoir area and other emissions of the major pollutantst of eco-environmental indicators.The paper contain five parts. The first chapter introduces the background, significance, status of domestic and foreign research studies; Chapter Ⅱ briefly analysis the coordinated development theory of the ecological environment and economy theoretical. Firstly,it defines the basic concepts of the coordinated development of economy and environment, which is the entry point for the study.Then briefly introduces the theory of coordinated development of the ecological environment and the economic research, which is the theoretical foundation of the starting point of this thesis research. Chapter Ⅲ analyzes the coordination between the mechanism of economic growth and the ecological environment. Chapter Ⅳ analyzes the actual characteristics of the Three Gorges Reservoir area and Wanzhou District in the current situation,and studies their characteristics between economic and ecological.Chapter Ⅴ firstly builds economic and environmental evaluation index system from coordinated development of economic growth and ecological aspects, secondly determines the weight of them,lastly uses coordinated synergistic model measure coordinated extent of them. Chapter Ⅵ formulate policies to develop the economic growth and ecological environment coordinately in the Three Gorges Reservoir according to the results of the measure.The fifth chapter according to the last chapter to find out the problems of coodination of economic growth and ecological environment protection and analyzed according to the conclusion of the study:the Wanzhou as a regional center,the overall economic and social development at the highest level, status and role of Wanzhou have become increasingly prominent as the special transportation center and trade center, trend of regional development was obtained by centrifugation part stopped, but the overall ecological environment in Wanzhou is rather poor and ecological function is relatively fragile, the dependence of economic growth on resources of the phenomenon is serious, so we must coordinate the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment protection, conversion to the harmonious development of them.The Ⅶ chapter put forward the Countermeasures that improving the Three Gorges Reservoir area of economic growth and ecological environment benign development according to the results of last chapter and analysis of the causes:first, activelychange the mode of economic growth; second, optimize the industrial structure,focus on both of resource development and conservation value; third, develop the green consumer market vigorously and resource recycling industry; fourth, implement of environmental protection project examination and approval system with the establishment of compensation mechanism for ecological protection, focusing on environmental protection propaganda and education;fifth, strengthening the public ecological consciousness; through the above policyrecommendations in order to economic growth and ecological environment can coordinate development.
