With the era of progress and economic development, human life level unceasing enhancement, but these are mostly at the expense of the ecological environment, it is not conducive to social-economic-ecological sustainable development. With the rapid economic development of The Three Gorges Reservoir Area of Hubei,ecological environmental quality is declining gradually in 2001-2013.This paper aims to explore the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment quality of The Three Gorges Reservoir Area of Hubei.Suggestions are put forward according to the two contradictions, expected in the region coordinated development of economy and environment.In view of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area of Hubei period of rapid economic development and ecological environment deterioration, this paper adopt Environmental Kuznets Curve theory and the ecological footprint theory to analysis and research the relationship between economic growth and ecological environment quality of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area of Hubei in 2001-2013, different parts of the study area has mainly reveals the relationship between economic growth and ecological environmental quality.The research mainly has the following conclusion:(1) Only Badong has EKC curve in the study area between economic growth and ecological environment quality,it is the typical "inverted U", namely the comprehensive ecological environmental quality as the first economic growth to regress, when economic growth reaches a certain value, the integrated ecological environment quality was as the economy continues to grow and improve. Yiling, Zigui and Xingshang have not appeared EKC curve between economy and environment, they are "linear", "U" curve and "N" type curve.(2) Total per capita ecological footprint in the study area are on the rise, from 2001 to 2013 reduced land rose to 4.0229 from 1.7492 hm2 / person, increased 2.3 times; Zigui rose to 2.2040 from 1.0639 hm2 / person, increased 2.1 times; Xingshan rose to 2.2267 from 1.1292 hm2 / person, increased 2.0 times; Badong county rose to 1.9909 from 1.0875 hm2 / person, increased 1.8 times. We can see and Yiling first, followed by Xingshan, Zigui the third largest, Badong is minimal. Yiling, Badong per capita ecological carrying capacity is on the rise, Xingshan, Zigui of total per capita ecological carrying capacity is on the decline, and Badong per capita ecological carrying capacity is the largest,and 2.5694 hm2 / person in 2013. Study found Badong is ecological surplus, can sustainable development state. And reduced land during the study period for all ecological deficit, Zigui in 2001,2002,2003 are ecological surplus,and after the year of the ecological deficit, Xingshan for ecological surplus in 2001,2001,2004-2013 are the ecological deficit, and the three areas of ecological deficit is more bigger and illustrates the environmental stress.(3) Only the Badong in the study area is relatively well at the relationship between economy and environment, in other parts of the economy and the environment relations are more nervous, so take measures to the contradiction between them, mainly includes: the development of economy, the road of sustainable development.Do a good job in environmental protection work. Adjust the industrial structure, promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.Reasonable control population and form a correct consumption view and effective use of natural resources, etc.
