In this work, water-soluble reactive antibacterials were synthesised, whose molecules consist of antibacteria unit, reactive group and ionic hydrophilic group. Isothiazolinone or quaternary ammonium salt were choosed as antibacterial active group, active chlorine of triazine ring or vinyl sulfone precursor (sulfuric ester ofβ-hydroxy sulfone) as reactive groups, carboxylic, sulfonic or sulfuric salts as the auxiliary water-soluble groups. Two of this kind isothiazolone antibacterials were synthesised. Antibacterial 1 bears two reactive groups, one vinyl sulfone precursor and an active chlorine of triazine ring. Antibacterial 2 has just an active chlorine of triazine ring. Antibacterial 3 is a quaternary ammonium salt with an active chlorine of triazine ring. All of these were characterized by 1H-NMR and ESI-MS.The antibacterials were applied to finishing for cotton, contton/polyester blend fabrics (80/20 and 65/35) and the optimal finishing processes were obtianed by orthogonal experiments. The finished fabrics were undergone the evaluation of antibacterial performance. When used for cotton and the antibacterials 5% owf, the optimal process for antibacterial 1 was t1:40min, t2:90min, T2:75℃, base :NaHCO3. Thus obtained fabrics showed that the inhibition rates for Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 98.57% and 96.51% respectively. After 50 washing cycles, these inhibition rates still maintained 92.14 % and 90.01% respectively; for the contton/polyester blend fabric(80/20), the optimal process was t1:20min, t2:90min, T2:60℃, T2:95℃; the inhibition rates of Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 92.57% and 89.01%, 85.78 % and 81.72% after 50 washing cycles; for the contton/polyester blend fabric (65/35), the optimal process was t1:20min, t2:90min, T2:50℃, T2:95℃; the inhibition rates of Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 87.13% and 85.79%, 80.10 % and 77.57% after 50 washing cycles. When used for cotton and the antibacterials 5% owf, the optimal process for antibacterial 2 was t1:20min, t2:90min, T2:50℃, T2:95℃; the inhibition rates of Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 92.92% and 90.46%, 86.04 % and 84.81% after 50 washing cycles; for the contton/polyester blend fabric (80/20), the optimal process was t1:20min, t2:90min, T2:50℃, T2:95℃; the inhibition rates of Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 87.86% and 85.47%, 81.42 % and 79.06% after 50 washing cycles; for the contton/polyester blend fabric (65/35), the optimal process was t1:40min, t2:90min, T2:60℃, T2:95℃; the inhibition rates of Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 86.36% and 84.30%, 79.19 % and 77.19% after 50 washing cycles. The silk was finished on that basis. The antibacterial rates of antibacterial 1to Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 96.56% and 94.37%, 92.74 % and 90.00% after 50 washing cycles. The inhibition rates of antibacterial 2 to Staphyloccocus aureus and Escherichia coli were 90.63% and 88.27%, 84.81 % and 81.37% after 50 washing cycles. The cotton fabrics were treated by antibacterials and reactive dye, the antibacterial rates and K/S declined, but not obvious, the effect of inhibition rates was not siginficant. The upload rate of detection of antibacteril 1 and 2, indicated that the upload rate in accordance with their antibacteril rate.
