Copper is an indispensable and important material in the social production and human life, its consumption is only inferior to the steel and aluminum, ranking the third.Copper strip is an important species in copper processing material, widely used in various fields of electronics, electrical, communications, instrumentation, transportation,and machinery manufacturing and etc. Along with the continuous progress of society and the continuous development of modern industry, aviation, aerospace, electronics,electric power, information, energy, machinery, metallurgy, construction, transportation and other fields, the demand for copper belt is increasing, at the same time put forward about the quality of the copper plate with high performance, high surface quality and high precision demand is higher and higher. The common 4-high mill or 6- high mill can no longer meet the demands of the desired products which only can be produced by multi-roll mill, among which Sendzimir twenty high rolling mills is the most widely used and mature.Sendzimir twenty roll mill is one of the key equipment of high-accuracy rolling mill, with its unique characteristics, such as small rolling force, high pass reduction, low operation costs and roller deformation. At present, the domestic of Sendzimir roll system research mainly concentrated in the structure improvement and design optimization, less in the elastic deformation of roll system.This paper reviews the basic theory of elastic deformation of multi-roll mill roll system and The finite element method, and briefly introduces the development process and structure characteristics of Sendzimir twenty roll mill. This paper established two mathematical models:Sendzimir twenty roll mill roll system of the elastic flattening deformation between rolls and elastic flattening deformation between copper and roll. In this paper, using the large-scale general finite element analysis software ABAQUS to establish elastic deformation finite element model of‘ZR33C-18’ Sendzimir twenty roll mill roll system, for checking the strength of the roll system. And by using the model of rolling mill rolling process simulation, calculate the contact pressure between rolls, analysis the influence factors of affect the contact pressure between rolls; and simulation calculated the finite element model of various rolling conditions, analyzed the influence of different controllable factors such as plate width、intermediate roll transverse shifting and ASU’s adjustment to the amount of workroll elastic flattening and the contact pressure between work roll and strip of copper. In this paper, the actual production in the copper belt rolling can be guided by the research results effectively.
