Parster fiber is a new type of cationic dyeing modified polyester that sulfonic acid groups were introduced into the macromolecular chain as well as PEG. With the characteristics of low carbon, environmental protection, hyperchromatic, super soft, excellent pilling resistance and so on, Parster fiber conforms to the "Textile Industry ’Twelfth Five-year’Development Plan" and it has a broad market prospect. This paper mainly studied on the performance of Parster fiber and its knitted fabrics, and the conclusions provided a certain theoretical basis and practical reference for the production practice and application of Parster fiber.Firstly, in this paper, fiber moisture regain, tensile property, Fourier infrared spectra and surface morphology of Parster fiber and the ordinary polyester fiber were tested and analyzed. The results showed that Parster fiber had a higher moisture regain and breaking strength, but a better breaking elongation compared with the ordinary polyester fiber. Also, PEG and sulfonic acid groups were polymerized in Parster fiber on the basis of the ordinary polyester fiber. In addition, the longitudinal surface morphology of Parster fiber and the ordinary polyester fiber was smooth and there’s no obvious difference of the longitudinal surface morphology of Parster fiber and the ordinary polyester fiber observed by SEM.Secondly, in this paper, twist, tensile property, evenness and hairiness property of the selected three kinds of yarns were tested and analyzed. The results showed that Parster fiber improved the tensile property, the hairiness property and the evenness of the yarn.Thirdly, seven knitted fabrics with different structures and densities were designed and developed by the computerized knitting machine and the properties of comfort like thermal-wet comfort and air permeability, mechanical properties like bursting and bending, the apparent properties like pilling resistance, dimensional stability for washing and drape, and the color fastness to water, rubbing and perspiration of the seven knitted fabrics were tested and analyzed in this paper and then the effects on the properties of the knitted fabrics caused by different compositions and ratios, structures and densities of the knitted fabrics were analyzed according to the results. The results showed that the fabrics of50W50P,60W40P and100W had the same ability to adapt to the climate, there’s no obvious relationship between the structures of the fabrics and the ability to adapt to the climate, but the fabric would be easier to adapt to the climate when the density was smaller. Also, the addition of Parster fiber made the property of air permeability of the fabric worse, the property of air permeability of the fabric of1+lrib was the best and the bigger the density was, the worse the property of air permeability of the fabric was. In addition, the properties of bursting, longitudinal rigidity and horizontal dimensional stability for washing of the blended knitted fabrics were better but drape was worse than the100%wool knitted fabric. And the property of pilling resistance and the color fastness of the seven different kinds of knitted fabrics were almost the same.Finally, the wearabiliry of the seven different kinds of knitted fabrics was evaluated comprehensively according to the principle of fuzzy mathematics. The results showed that the comprehensive performance of the fabric60W40P(2+2rib) was the best, and then the fabric60W40P(weft plain),100W(weft plain),60W40P(2+2rib, bigger density),60W40P(1+1rib),60W40P(weft plain, bigger density), and the comprehensive performance of the50W5OP(weft plain) fabric was the worst.
