Since the 20th century, the ecological crisis has become a global disaster. All the countries in the world gradually begin to pay attention to the ecological crisis. The countries expect to solve ecological problems by reconstructing the relationship between man and nature. The development of China’s social and economic is extremely rapid, but the ecological problems not only trouble sustainable development of China, but also gradually contact with the neighboring countries. Ecological problems continue to highlight and seriously hinder the sustainable development of China. Because of the lack of ecological view it has brought serious ecological crisis and a series of ecological problems have sounded the alarm to the Chinese people once again. We should adhere to Marxism as the guiding ideology in China, deeply learn traditional Chinese ecological wisdom, to use the experience and advanced ideas of other countries for reference in environmental protection. And base on these, we can carve a path of ecological civilization with Chinese characteristics.The understanding of the connotation of ecological civilization can be from the two perspectives of the lateral and longitudinal angles. The two kinds of thoughts are the lateral angle that is the "material civilization-spiritual civilization-political civilization-ecological civilization", and the longitudinal angle that is the "primitive civilization-agricultural civilization-industrial civilization-ecological civilization". The ecological civilization has the characteristics of fairness and sustainability, which requires the respect for the natural attributes of the people and the emphasis on the human self-discipline. Ecological civilization and industrial civilization, as two different forms of civilization, there are differences in the aspects of concept of development, nature, values, and consumer attitudes. The ecological civilization is a kind of "sublation" of traditional industrial civilization. Ecological view of marxism requires people to fully understand and respect the nature, give full play to people’s subjective initiative, human should be reconciled with the nature. The Communist Party of China always adheres to the ecological view of marxism as a practical guide, and proposes different requirements based on the development status of China in different periods. Liuzhou city adheres to the implementation of the guidelines and policies of the party central committee to promote the construction of ecological civilization. It has achieved fruitful results through several years of hard work, the transition from "the city of acid rain" to "livable city" and from "industrial Liuzhou" to "beautiful Liuzhou". However, there are still some problems in the construction of ecological civilization in Liuzhou City, the shortage of manpower leads to the lack of supervision of government, and the lack of funds leads the process of large-scale heavy industry of the "retreat city into the park" to lag. There is an overcapacity in the metallurgy, machinery and other pillar industries, and the automobile, metallurgy, mechanical three heavy industries always occupy the dominant position. In view of the existing problems in the construction of ecological civilization in Liuzhou City, the supervision of heavy industry should be improved, to increase the investment of the project of "retreat city into the park", to change the production concepts of the production departments, and to adjust industrial structure and mode of production.The construction of ecological civilization is not only the basis for the sustainable development of Liuzhou, but also the key to the continuation of the Chinese nation. The concept of ecological civilization as a value orientation is an indispensable spiritual support for building a well-off society in an all-round way. Only to insist on promoting the construction of ecological civilization, the Chinese nation is likely to stand among the nations of the world.
