In the paper, firefighters moisture wicking underwear were designed and the fabric were tested. First, the concept of clothing for firefighters and the multilayer structure of firefighters clothing are discussed, and the status of firefighters moisture wicking underwear and the fabric performance requirements were introduced. Then select the cotton fabric, mesh fabric, honeycomb wicking fabric, wicking strip fabric, flame wicking strip fabric, flame wicking point fabric total of six kinds of fabrics to design and development of cutting underwear and seamless underwear. Second, the moisture wicking performance, rigid performance, breathability and other wearability performance, analog skin, contact heat flow of cutting underwear fabric were tested and analysis in this study. And the article tested and analyzed subjective and objective evaluation of cutting underwear. Finally, the spandex covering yarn, nylon, polyester(COOLMAX) and flame retardant viscose(Lenzing thermal protection fiber) were selected to design and development same four organizational structure of seamless underwears. And the dynamic moisture transfer performance of seamless underwear fabric, contact heat flow, thermal and moisture comfort of subjective and objective were tested and analyzed. The results showed that: crop underwear fabric with fibers contain CLEANCOOL and wicking underwear strip is good in moisture wicking performance, seamless underwear fabric with fibers contain COOLMAX fibers is good in moisture wicking performance. The crop underwear and seamless underwear fabric structure have a little impact on the analog skin test and contact heat flow test, fabrics with surface smooth has a high performance in the analog skin test and contact heat flow test; vertical and horizontal arrangement of fabric and garment division lines of crop underwear significant effect on sweating manikin test results. Yarn has some influence on the sweating manikin test results of seamless underwear. Seamless underwear with COOLMAX fibers has low wet resistance. Vertical and horizontal arrangement of the crop underwear and clothing dividing line has some influence on the adhesions sense and wet feeling sense evaluation. Fabrics with longitudinally aligned wicking strip and clothing dividing line had good performance in adhesions sense and wet feeling sense evaluation. Manikin test results had a little consistency with adhesions sense, manikin test results are inconsistent with the wet feeling stuffy evaluation. This research results can provide a theoretical basis and practical reference for firefighters moisture wicking underwear design and development.
