Study On The Clothing Comfort Of Military Men’s Underwear

In this paper, we discuss the comfort of military men’s underwear. The underwear which is usedas the research objects has three different styles named and five kinds of fabric. We mainly doresearch on the pressure comfort and heat-moisture comfort of military men’s underwear throughfabric test and try-on experiment.The pressure experiment includes two parts which are objective test and subjective test. Theresults of objective test show that the pressure on subjects’ buttocks increases when subjectschange their postures from standing to leg lifts and then squatting. Generally speaking, theunderwear of the first style and the fourth fabric has better pressure comfort than others, becauseits total pressure values are lower. During subjective test, subjects fill out questionnaireaccording to their pressure feelings as they change their postures. The results of questionnaireshow that the underwear of the second style and the second fabric is more comfortable.The heat-moisture experiment also has two parts, including objective test and subjective test.In the heat-moisture experiment, while subjects wearing underwear keep walking on the speed of5km/h for ten minutes, their skin temperature and the atmosphere humidity around subjects’underwear. As soon as subjects finish walking, they fill out questionnaire about their feeling ofheat and moisture. According to the results of objective test, we know that the averagetemperature of skin rise slightly when subjects walk, and the temperature of subjects’ skin whichis covered by underwear tends to drop at first and then rise about two minutes later. Thetemperature of subjects’ skin is lower than the average temperature of skin during the whole time.Totally speaking, the underwear made of the first fabric may has better heat-moisture comfort.The results of subjective questionnaire show that all of the underwear have good heat-moisturecomfort.
