In recent years, with the improvement of living standards, People’s requirement for clothing is not only limited to good thermal performance, but also good thinness and aesthetics. Compared with clumsy and too heavy winter clothes, people now prefer light clothing with excellent warm performance. For clothes in fall and winter seasons, warm performance is not only reflected in the multi-level matching way and wind prevention performance and airtight performance of outer clothing, but also closely related to insulation values of various layers of clothing; the role of thermal underwear cannot be ignored. Many factors affect thermal, moisture and comfort performance of knitted thermal underwear, mainly including the type and thickness of yarn and the thickness and organizational structure of the fabric. To make thermal insulation, moisture permeability and air permeability of knitted thermal underwear meet the body’s needs, combine design of thermal underwear with physiological characteristics of the human body and use the mosaic design to stitch the fabric with different properties in different parts, in order to improve comfort of the knitted thermal underwear.The paper mainly includes the following study elements: a set of knitted thermal underwear is divided into 24 parts according to the structure of the human body to conduct body heat and moisture comfort subjective evaluation experiments. The cluster analysis is made based on two aspects of the sensitive strength of the human body to cold and sweat strength in the motion state. They are aggregated into three parts of representative areas; according to human subjective experiments and fabric static experimental data analysis results, make zoning and fabric stitching design based on thermal underwear clothing’s warmth, moisture permeability and heat and moisture comfort; according to different conditions of stitching designs, produce knitted stitching thermal underwear sample; according to results of the experimental analysis, with the conditions to meet the warmth, moisture permeability and heat and moisture comfort, make thermal and moisture comfort stitching design of knitted thermal underwear and create stitching knitted thermal underwear sample; select the stitching knitted thermal underwear and a common knitted thermal underwear in the market; make subjective evaluation experiments and analysis for heat and moisture comfort to justify the reasonable feature of stitching design and get the optimal design. Through research, the following conclusions can be received:(1) According to the cold-sensitive intensity cluster analysis, it is concluded that in the cold environment of winter, the sequence of human body’s cold-sensitive. Based on the sweat strength cluster analysis, in a cold environment, in the state of motion, we can get the order of sweating intensity of the human body.(2) Through analysis of the static physical performance test results of the sample’s breathability, moisture permeability, water absorption and thermal rate, each fabric’s thermal and moisture comfort features and the relative excellence order of the fabric’s thermal comfort is received and the causes of the differences are analyzed.(3) According to the different requirements of various parts of the body for heat and moisture comfort, based on warmth, moisture permeability and heat and moisture comfort, make separately partitioned design and fabric stitching design of knitted thermal underwear; four kinds of stitching underwear with good thermal performance, four underwear, four kinds of stitching underwear with good moisture permeability and eight kinds of stitching underwear with thermal and moisture comfort are made.(4) Two parts of the subjective evaluation experiments determine the most appropriate partitioning scheme; based on the most appropriate partitioning scheme, the best fabric stitching design is obtained; it’s proved that knitted thermal underwear with partition stitching design has good heat and moisture comfort performance and stitching design is reasonable.Through analysis and study of heat and moisture comfort of human body and the heat and moisture comfort of knitted thermal underwear, the paper makes knitting and stitching partitioning design for thermal underwear. The author expects to provide new theories and methods for future knitted thermal underwear design, but also provide some scientific guidance for the enterprise’s production, research and development of thermal underwear.
