Research On River-ways Pollution And Its Countermeasures In Countryside

Based on the blue-green algae pollution in Taihu Basin in recent years, this paper has expounded a series of problems brought about by the water deterioration in Huishan District in Wuxi City. In combination of the increasing serve situation and experts’research on river-way pollution in this area, this paper has found the main causes of the pollution. Besides the river-way’s zoology defects itself, the wastes were discharged into water such as waste water from small industry and untreated pesticides, fertilizers and household garbage from countryside because the public health infrastructure cannot keep pace with the development. Moreover, there are other deeper causes such as people’s poor awareness on environment, the lack of law on pollution treatment and management on industrial structure as well as technical equipment.On the analysis of the causes of the pollution, this paper has introduced the countermeasures of the government, community and peasants in Huishan District respectively. The government and individuals have taken their own responsibilities to take actions to control the pollution. Although they have made obvious progress, there still exist a lot of problems such as imperfect management system, backward pollution treatment infrastructure, severe river-way silt-up and people’s poor awareness on environment, etc.With the aim to solve these problems, this paper has studied in various ways such as controlling from the source, optimizing the industrial structures, strengthening the government management and adjusting the prevention strategy, etc. They can take targeted management policy, optimize laws and regulations on countryside river-ways, facilitate water saving and pollution-treatment construction, adopt organic fertilizers and attach importance on publicity and education on people so that the river-way’s situation and people’s living standards can be effectively improved.Hope this paper can provide some reference for improving water quality and water resources development as well as people’s living standards so that it can take a new look in W District.
