Using computer aided design system(CAD), the welding process of pressure vessel is analyzed and studied, and the idea of modular design is adopted. Combined with the actual situation of enterprises, all kinds of documents and regulations, industry standards and welding process of the welding process of pressure vessel are collected. And the welding process of the typical welding parts, include the flange, the head and the cylinder, are classified. The welding process, the working procedure and the relevant welding parameters of the typical parts of the pressure vessel are transformed into the form of the computer. According to the welding process of pressure vessel, considering all kinds of possible situations, the CAD system of the pressure vessel welding process is studied based on the knowledge and experience data. The system uses the modular design method and artificial intelligence technology, follows the principle of high cohesion and low coupling, and determines the function of each module and the hierarchical relationship among the modules. By simulating the human thinking mode, and studying the mechanism, the problems of pressure vessel welding process computer aided design have been solved and also we have completed system design. The CAD system of pressure vessel welding process is studied by using database system management technique and computer language. We should strictly follow the software testing method, in accordance with the steps of testing, the unit testing, sub system testing, system testing. The software should be tested, and we must eliminate and correct errors with our maximum possible to ensure that the system is stable and efficient operation.All parts of the welding process design are assigned to the computer by using the CAD system, and the complete output of the welding process card is realized. The system makes the designers who design the pressure vessel get rid of a lot of tedious and repetitive work, save a lot of time, and also they can research and develop new products, new technology, new equipment with their main energy. Besides, it enhances the enterprise’s market competitiveness.
