With the high-speed development of grinding technology, people’s attention on grinding quality and function is improving. But in current domestic market, the grinding devices are mostly in the low-level, the high-level equipment should be imported overseas. As for some special grinding requirement like miniature grinding, it is hard to get proper device. So, to develope this kind of grinding machine, to make up the market requirement is very important.This paper comes from a project about miniature internal grinding machine, it concentrates on the development of the control system. This system should not only ensure the product quality, but also improve the automatic and intelligent level of the process. The research contains the following contents: requirement analysis and plan design; the development of hardware system and software system; the development of HMI; the theoretical modeling and simulation analysis.The whole thesis includes the following chapters:Chapter one begins with the overview of internal grinding machine after illustrating the background and significance of the project, the research status and developing trend. Then discusses the aim and main content of this thesis.Chapter two defines the total requirement analysis and plan design, and resolves the product function and design parameter based on the Axiomatic Design; then decides the movement and transmission plan to accomplish the total plan design.Chapter three analyses the system control requirement; then chooses the proper control units and devices; at the end designs the hardware assembly plan.Chapter four analyses the software system requirement and sets the Human-Machine Interface; then according the design steps, accomplishes the software system development.Chapter five builds the math model of the linear motor; then makes the simulation based on Simulink to ensure the rationality of the control solution.Chapter six accomplishes the hardware building of the whole control system and tests the system.Finally, Chapter seven makes a conclusion of the whole dissertation and puts forward the future research in this field.
