Due to its excellent physical properties and chemical stability, sapphire is widely used in the fields of semiconductor, national defense science and technology,civil aviation and other industries. At present, in the use of LED substrate materials,sapphire wafer accounted for the dominant position, and the use of the amount increased year by year. Therefore, how to efficiently process the high quality sapphire material has become a great challenge for the enterprises. Sapphire wafer obtained by slicing through crystal rod, so the efficiency and quality of dig stick processing has a very large impact on the whole process. In this paper, we put forward a solution to the problem of low efficiency and quality of the sapphire cutting process: Machining efficiency is improved by optimizing the processing parameters. The main research contents of this paper :First, as now in our country, there has few special machine tools for sapphire dig stick processing, most of the enterprises still using the ordinary drill to process.This paper presents a new method to transform the common drilling machine into sapphire rod cut machine. Based on Z5150 A type vertical drilling machines,transformation of spindle box and working table into the servo control feeding ensure that processing have precise processing parameters, provides a basis for the following parameters optimization. After that, we use ANSYS to analyze the static and modal of the machine, to ensure that it can successfully complete the process of cutting.Secondly, designing a orthogonal experiment by using different processing parameters levels collocation’s of sapphire processing. Processing parameters are from the processing experience and the actual situation of the plant. Finish the experiment, using range and variance of statistical analysis of experimental results to get the initial optimal parameters of collocation. According to this optimal collocation to complete single factor processing experiments and get the results.Because the result of variance analysis is limited to several groups of experiments that have been completed, it has guiding significance, but not comprehensive enough,so it needs a more comprehensive analysis.Thirdly, based on the fuzzy membership degree theory, the results of orthogonal experiment are analyzed comprehensively to obtaine the final optimization results.Use another experiment to verify the results of the analysis to ensure the correctness of parameter optimization.Finally, the optimal processing parameters are obtained by the above analysis and optimization. After this parameter as the processing parameters, greatly improve the efficiency and quality of sapphire cut out processing, and make contribution to the development of the sapphire industry.
